Remus glanced doubtfully at Conda as he took the handful of Floo Powder from the ebony box that Mr. Malfoy held out to him. "All I do is say the name of where I want to go?" She nodded, grinning at him. "Yep, that's it. You'll be home in no time." Mr. Malfoy tapped Remus' shoulder. "Don't forget to give your mother my message, Remus." The small boy grinned. "I won't. Thanks for having me over, it was fun."
Tossing the powder into the crackling fire, Remus glanced back once more. "See you tomorrow, Conda!" She waved as he stepped into the emerald flames, shouting, "12 Grimmauld Place!" Behind her, Draco Malfoy looked on, his eyes calculating and suddenly cold. A smirk turned up his lips as the son of his two worst enemies disappeared with a slight 'whoosh'.

"Honey, sit down. I know you wouldn't have let Remus go with Conda and her mother if you felt there was any danger from them." Harry tried to reassure his wife as she paced anxiously around the sitting room. "I just have this feeling...what on earth was I thinking, letting him go when I don't even know their surname?!" Karen's frown deepened as she continued to walk back and forth.
Harry watched Karen retrace her steps yet again. Standing up, he put put his arms around her, holding Karen close. "Karen, Remus is ok. It's not even 7 yet. He'll be home soon." Harry could feel the tension in his sweetheart's body, putting him in mind of a cat crouched, ready to move. "Harry, you know that I--" Breaking off her sentence, Karen looked towards the kitchen stairs. If it were possible, her ears would have been pricked forward as the sound of small feet could be heard climbing the stairs.
Within minutes, a somewhat sooty Remus appeared. "Hi Mum, Daddy." Karen glanced at Harry as he smiled, whispering, "What did I tell you?" Giving her husband a Look, she rushed forward, embracing Remus. "Mum! Get off!" Remus complained as he squirmed away. "Sorry, sweetie." Standing up, Karen smiled at the small boy. "Did you have fun with Conda?"
"Yeah! Her dad's kind of weird, though. He kept staring at me all through dinner." Remus frowned for a second, then shrugged. "Anyway, Mr. Maf...Mafley..Conda's dad want's to meet you some time. He said he likes to know who Conda plays with." Karen glanced at Harry, who shrugged. "Does he want to meet your father, too?" Remus shook his head. "Nah. He said that he remembered Daddy from school, but he never really knew you that well."
Smiling slightly, Karen nodded. "Ok. Did he tell you when?" Shrugging, her son grinned. "You can ask Conda's mum tomorrow. She invited me to play at the park again after lunch." Slowly nodding, Karen tried to shrug off the unease that had settled on her. Harry's voice startled her out of her thoughts. "Ok, Remus. Let's get you upstairs and in a bath. It's almost bedtime." Watching Harry scoop up a squealing, giggling Remus and carrying him upstairs, Karen shook herself. 'This is ridiculous. I'm just being paranoid...aren't I?'

Well...that revelation in the last chapter was unexpected. Now ya'll know that something's going to happen...the question is, what? Well, I hope that this chapter hints at it, if not totally giving it away!
One other thing: I would like to make a note that my character(Karen) may seem like a Mary-Sue at first, but I promise that she's not. In fact, I'm working on making her less of a Mary-Sue all the time. One other thing is that this is based off a roleplay I'm currently participating in, so there are some things that might seem a little strange.
For example, Sirius is alive(that wasn't my idea, but I was so upset about him dying in the books that when a RP came along with him alive by some miracle, I jumped at it.), and Karen and Harry are able to communicate with Lily and James because James had his mirror on him when he died. Hermione was able to repair Harry's mirror, so that's why Harry still has it, even though in the book it was broken.
Other than that, this is just something I'm working on for fun, and I really don't want people flaming me because of those things. Thanks!
